Badgers Bye Week Report Card - Wisconsin Receivers

The Positives

Coming into the 2018 season, Wisconsin knew this receiving core was one of the most talented groups at the position it has had in recent memory. Having to wait for two games for the return of Danny Davis from suspension, Kendric Pryor and A.J. Taylor did more than enough to impress in his absence, combining for 270 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Taylor carried the brunt of the load with 219 yards of those being his own.

Outside of the three guys that people expected, tight end Jake Ferguson has been a huge factor in the passing game and has stepped up as quarterback Alex Hornibrook’s go-to-guy in crunch-time situations. While injuries have limited Zander Neuville and Kyle Penniston has struggled to get going, Ferguson has made the most of his time on the field to start the season recording 12 catches for 166 yards and a score.
