Five Takeaways From Wisconsin’s 41-24 Win Over Nebraska

1, Dominant Ground Game

Wisconsin running the ball? You don’t say? Throughout the game the Badgers punished Nebraska on the ground, outgaining them 370 to 111. UW did it by spreading the wealth, giving carries to seven different players. While the three-headed running attack got the bulk of the work from Jonathan Taylor (221 yards, three TDs, 9.2 ypc), Taiwan Deal (74 yards, one TD, 7.4 ypc) and Garrett Groshek (83 total yards) delivered tangible contributions to wear down Nebraska’s front. The key evidence to that was Taylor breaking off an 88-yard run early in the fourth quarter that was the final nail in the coffin.
