Jump Around Turns 20 And Still Going Strong

MADISON, Wis. – One of College Football’s most recognizable traditions is most legal, as Wisconsin’s “Jump Around” between the third and fourth quarter celebrated its 20th anniversary Wednesday.

A tradition that happened on accident, the Badgers’ 1998 Homecoming game against Purdue saw no offensive points scored in the third quarter. Hoping to stir up the crowd, the Badgers’ marketing agent in charge of sound piped House of Pain’s famous song through the loudspeakers.

The rest, as they say, is history and has become one of college football’s top traditions. Many schools have copied the Badgers and used the song to generate some excitement, but nothing has come close to beating the original.

What’s your favorite Jump Around memory?
