Wisconsin Opens As Heavy Favorites Over Illinois

MADISON, Wis. – A lopsided road loss hasn’t swayed the oddsmakers against the University of Wisconsin.

Dropping to No.23 in the polls, Wisconsin opened as a 26.5-point favorite over Illinois, according to Vegas Insider.

The Badgers (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) own a 41-37-7 all-time record against the Illini (3-3, 1-2), a series record that doesn’t demonstrate how one-sided the border rivalry has been. UW has won the last eight meetings dating back to 2008, which is the longest streak for either side in the series. Illinois hasn’t won at Camp Randall Stadium since 2002.

Last season, the Badgers defeated the Illini, 24-10, in Champaign, a game highlighted by a 4-yard touchdown run from offensive lineman Michael Deiter in the fourth quarter.

Saturday’s kickoff is set for 11 a.m. at Camp Randall Stadium. The game will be televised on FS1.
