Who Are The Most Important Badgers Against Illinois?

After suffering a humbling defeat to Michigan Saturday night, No.23 Wisconsin (4-2, 2-1 Big Ten) will return to Madison to play an Illinois team it has beaten eight straight times. The recent dominance over Illinois (3-3, 1-2) has continued since Paul Chryst took over as head coach, as the Badgers have beaten Illinois by an average of 23.3 points per game over the last three meetings.

Illinois enters the weekend coming off a 39-point loss to Purdue. Despite already exceeding last year’s win total, the Illini are still a rebuilding team who will look to rely on their ground attack, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten (229.8 yards per game) and 22nd nationally against a Wisconsin rush defense that’s allowing 161.8 yards a contest.

The rankings for the Front Seven are determined based on performance from last week, expectations this coming week and need. Here are our seven players most important in helping the Badgers to a victory over Illinois.
