Wisconsin Moves Up in AP Poll

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin took a modest jump in the college football rankings Sunday, jumping three spots to No.20 in the AP poll and staying at No.19 in the USA Today/Amway coaches poll.

Wisconsin (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten) is fresh off a 49-20 victory over Illinois, the Badgers’ ninth straight victory over the Illini. Since Paul Chryst took over as head coach, Wisconsin has outscored Illinois by a margin of 145-46 in the teams’ four meetings, an average of 24.8 points per game. UW has also won 16 straight against Big Ten West Division opponents.

The Badgers will head on the road this weekend for a matchup with Northwestern. The Wildcats (4-3, 4-1) are coming off an ugly 18-15 victory at last-place Rutgers to remain in first place in the Big Ten West Division. Northwestern is not receiving votes in either poll.

Kickoff from Ryan Field is set for 11 a.m. CT. Television coverage is still TBD.
