Wisconsin Opens As Favorites For Northwestern

MADISON, Wis. – A critical Big Ten West matchup that could determine the division’s representative in the conference title game slightly favors Wisconsin, as the Badgers opened as a 5.5-point favorite as they prepare to head to Northwestern Sunday.

Wisconsin leads the all-time series 59-35-5, including a 29-18-1 record in Evanston. The number is deceiving though as the Badgers went 15 seasons (four meetings) without a victory in the venue. UW finally broke through with a 21-7 victory at Ryan Field in 2016.

The two programs have split the last 12 meetings, with five being a one-possession game. The Wildcats (4-3, 4-1 Big Ten) hold a half-game lead over the Badgers (5-2, 3-1) in the West Division.

Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on FOX.
