2019 OLB Skyler Meyers Commits to Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – A good weekend of linebacker of play by the University of Wisconsin evidently impacted a couple of prospects.

A day after Lincolnshire (Ill.) Stevenson inside linebacker Maema Njongmeta made his pledge to the 2019 class, Blue Springs (Mo.) 2019 OLB Skyler Meyers announced his commitment to the Badgers’ 2019 class following his unofficial visit Sunday.

The 6-3, 200-pound prospect committed to the Badgers over 16 other offers, including Army, Colorado State, Navy, South Dakota State and Wyoming. He is the 15th commit in Wisconsin’s 2019 recruiting class, which ranks seventh in the Big Ten by the 247sports composite.

He was offered during the visit by Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst.

“They have told me I fit great in the outside linebacker because of speed and size and have a great chance to compete,” Meyers told 247sports’ Allen Trieu.

Meyers was making his second visit to Camp Randall (he watched UW beat Nebraska last month) and saw inside linebacker Ryan Connelly and T.J. Edwards lead the Badgers in tackles and outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel block a punt in the 31-17 win over Rutgers.
