Penn State Opens As Favorites Over Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin will enter its road game at Penn State this Saturday as eight-point underdogs, according to Vegas Insider.

A game that was once thought to be a marquee November matchup between a pair of teams fighting for the College Football Playoffs has lost its luster in recent weeks.

The Badgers (6-3, 4-2 Big Ten) had dropped two of three to fall out of the running before beating Rutgers Saturday. Penn State won its first four games and was ranked as high as No.9 in the country before back-to-back fourth-quarter losses to Ohio State and Michigan State. The Nittany Lions (6-3, 3-3) were thoroughly demolished at Michigan, 42-7, Saturday to fall into a fourth-place tie in the Big Ten East.

Wisconsin has lost five of its last six against Penn State, including a 38-31 defeat in the last matchup in the 2016 Big Ten championship game. UW hasn’t visited State College since 2012, last winning at Beaver Stadium in 2003.

The game will be televised on ABC with an 11 a.m. CT kickoff.
