Wisconsin Lands Four-Star Defensive Tackle Rodas Johnson

MADISON, Wis. – Who knew a win over Rutgers would generate so much recruiting momentum for the University of Wisconsin?

Landing linebackers for its 2019 class on Saturday and Sunday and flipping a wide receiver prospect from Western Michigan earlier in the day, Wisconsin landed Columbus (OH) St. Frances De Sales defensive tackle Rodas Johnson – arguably one of its top remaining targets – Tuesday night

Ranked as a four-star prospect and the No.21 defensive tackle in the country by the 247sports composite, Johnson picked Wisconsin over offers from Duke, Florida, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Penn State, Texas, West Virginia and a host of others.

Recruited by defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield and offensive coordinator Joe Rudolph, Johnson took his first official visit to Wisconsin in June.

He is the 17th commit in Wisconsin’s 2019 recruiting class and joins in-state senior Keeanu Benton (Janesville) as projected defensive tackles in the current cycle.
