Ethan Happ Sets New Wisconsin Rebounding Record

MADISON, Wis. – Ethan Happ’s assault on the Wisconsin record book continue Saturday night.

Grabbing his sixth rebound with 9:38 remaining, Happ recorded his 905th career rebounds, breaking a tie with Claude Gregory (904) for the most in school history, doing it in two fewer games than the former UW standout who played from 1978-81.

Happ has achieved a major accomplishment in all three of Wisconsin’s early season games. He opened the season with just the second triple-double in school history against Coppin State and followed that up with a 30-point, 13-rebound, five-assist performance in UW’s win at Xavier on Tuesday.

Entering tonight’s game, Happ was averaging 20.0 points and 12.0 rebounds per game, while leading the Big Ten with 8.5 assists per game.

If he stays healthy, Happ could finish in the top five in school history in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. He entered the evening ranked seventh in points (1,581), 13th in assists (287), sixth in blocks (114) and third in steals (179).
