Wisconsin Opens As Double-Digit Favorites Over Minnesota

MADISON, Wis. – Coming off a 47-44 triple-overtime victory at Purdue, Wisconsin opens as a 10.5-point favorite over Minnesota in Saturday’s regular-season finale at Camp Randall Stadium, according to Vegas Insider.

It will be the 129th meeting between the two schools, extending the most-played rivalry in the FBS, and a series the Badgers have dominated with 14 straight wins – the longest win streak by either team in the history of the series, which dates back to 1890.

When Barry Alvarez took over as head coach at Wisconsin in 1990, Minnesota owned a 54-37-8 lead in the teams’ all-time series. The Badgers have closed that 17-game gap and took the lead in the series for the first time ever last year with a 31-0 victory in Minneapolis.

Minnesota (5-6, 2-6 Big Ten) is in last place in the Big Ten West and needs a win to guarantee bowl eligibility. It was the exact situation the Gophers were in last year when an undefeated Wisconsin knocked them off.

The game will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT and be televised by ESPN2.
