Wisconsin Moves Up To No.22 in Associated Press Poll

MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin going 2-1 and advancing to the finals of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament was impressive in the eyes of the national voters.

Fresh off being ranked for the first time since March 13, 2017, last week, Wisconsin (5-1) moved up three spots to No.22 in this week’s AP poll, the Badgers’ highest ranking since Feb.27, 2017.

Wisconsin beat Stanford Wednesday and previously-unbeaten Oklahoma Thursday before falling to No.4 Virginia, 53-46, Friday. The Cavaliers stayed at fourth in the poll behind No.1 Gonzaga, No.2 Kansas and No.3 Duke.

UW has a big week ahead of itself, hosting N.C. State (6-0) in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge tomorrow night before going to No.14 Iowa (5-0) for the conference opener Friday.

No.7 Michigan, No.9 Michigan State, No.16 Ohio State, No.19 Purdue and No.24 Maryland round out the Big Ten teams in the poll.
