Three-Star Receiver Cam Phillips Commits To Wisconsin

With the calendar flipping to December, the University of Wisconsin’s coaching staff is on its final sprint until the early signing period later this month. On Saturday, the Badgers started the month on the right foot.

Westerville (OH) receiver Cameron Phillips, who played last season at IMG Academy in Florida, tweeted that he was committing to Wisconsin’s 2019 signing class.

Picking the Badgers over offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Rutgers, the 6-1 Phillips is the 18th prospect to commit in Wisconsin’s class and the second wide receiver, joining Michigan’s Stephan Bracey.

He was offered by the Badgers in June 2017 following a campus visit. He also visited last November for UW’s final home game against Michigan.

“The visit to Wisconsin was more than I expected for a town and university,” Phillips told Rivals.com of his first visit. “My family had never been there, so we were shocked how progressive and beautiful it was.”
