Wisconsin Signing Class Preview - Logan Brown

MADISON, Wis – With the early signing period for high school football players beginning on December 19, Badgers Insider takes a closer look at the recruits expected to sign with the University of Wisconsin.

In this edition, we examine Grand Rapids (Mich.) East Kentwood offensive tackle Logan Brown.

Senior Season

After losing the first game of the season, East Kentwood rattled off nine wins in a row before falling in the second round of the state playoffs. Brown battled a knee injury this season that caused him to miss some time but nothing serious.

Skill Set

Standing at 6-6/6-7 and 295/305 pounds, Brown is a mammoth young man who possesses tremendous athletic ability. His film shows being incredibly strong in both run and pass protection, as it’s not atypical to see him stymie would-be pass rushers and pancake defensive linemen to open up running lanes. “Power” is a great word to describe him with his blocking, as well as having good flexibility and footwork to move laterally and eliminate any threats on the line or in the second level.

Brown’s frame provides him with long arms (which he knows how to use to get leverage against players the same size or shorter than he is) and a body type that can get even bigger and stronger, making him even nastier than he already is.

He’s a rare athlete and a tremendous offensive tackle prospect. Considering UW’s pedigree for developing raw players into NFL-quality players, imagine what the Badgers can do with a player who is so far ahead of the curve already.
