Five-Star Jalen Johnson Still High On Wisconsin

Transferring from Sun Prairie (Wis.) to Nicolet (Wis.), junior Jalen Johnson has already adapted well to his new surroundings.

Winners of four of their first five games, Johnson is averaging 17.2 points per game and continues to back up his five-star composite ranking.

“I just have to go out here and play my game every game,” he said in an interview with Prep Circuit. “There’s not really that much pressure, but I’m the best player in the nation. That’s my opinion and I’m going to play like it. I’m a winner and I’m going to do whatever it takes to win.”

Since receiving his first scholarship offer from the Badgers in May 2017, Johnson holds over two dozen offers from some of the top programs in the country, like Arizona, Duke, Florida and Kentucky.

Having already taken official visits to UCLA, Arizona, and Duke, Johnson is next leaning toward an official visit to Georgetown before deciding on where he’ll take his fifth and final official visit. He has unofficially visited Marquette, Kentucky and Wisconsin in the fall.

While many fans believe Johnson will not truthfully consider Wisconsin, he maintains the Badgers will be in the final conversation before he commits to a program.

“(Committing to Wisconsin) would be big, my fan base down there would be huge,” he said in the interview. “It’s something that’s on the back of my mind and something I’ll have to talk about with my family.

“They are going to be at the top at the end of it and the fan base would be really crazy down there.”
