Wisconsin Moves Up Slightly In AP Poll

MADISON, Wis. – A second consecutive blowout win bumped the University of Wisconsin up one spot to No.15 in this week’s Associated Press Top 25.

Playing for the first time in nine days, the Badgers shook off an early challenge from Grambling State to beat the Tigers 84-53, on Saturday.

Senior Ethan Happ was again the start of the show for the Badgers (10-2) with 19 points and grabbing his 1,000th career rebound. Happ became the 15th player in Big Ten Conference history to reach that mark.

D’Mitrik Trice (14), Kobe King (10) and Nate Reuvers (10) also scored in double figures and 11 different Badgers scored in UW’s final home non-conference game of the season.

Following the loss of No.1 Kansas, Michigan received nine first place votes and jumped up to No.2 in the AP Poll. The Wolverines are one of five undefeated teams in Division 1.

Wisconsin finishes its non conference schedule with a road trip to Western Kentucky (6-6) Saturday. Tipoff is at 4:30 p.m.
