Beau Benzschawel Makes AP's All-Bowl Team

Beau Benzschawel received one final recognition from his consensus All-American season Monday, being named to the AP’s All-Bowl Team.

The senior right guard was a huge part of Wisconsin’s 35-3 victory over Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl (Dec.27). Holding the ball for 39 minutes, 47 seconds, Wisconsin rushed for 333 yards, including 205 yards from Jonathan Taylor. It’s the second straight season Benzschawel has earned all-bowl recognition.

The Badgers finished the 2018 season 8-5 and unranked in the final AP poll, receiving two votes.

Despite his performance against the Hurricanes, Taylor was not one of the two tailbacks named to the team. The 2018 Doak Walker Award winner was edged out by Vanderbilt’s Ke’Shawn Vaughn (243 yards and two TDs on 13 carries) and Texas A&M’s Trayeon Williams, Texas A&M (broke a 52-year-old Gator Bowl rushing record by gaining 236 yards and three touchdowns).
